About Ben Mwesigwa

Ben Mwesigwa is a Research and Planning officer at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and a FUFA Coaching (Football) Instructor.

He is a part-time football coach at FC Luzira (Futbol Club Of Luzira) which specializes in teaching students the basics of football and futsal by being excellent and exemplary citizens.

Ben has coaching experience working with young ladies through his time coaching Vienna College Namugongo ladies in 2016, working with young players through his time coaching the U-17’s, and working with elite players through his time with the Maroons FC senior team in UPL and the FUFA big league from June 2015 to January 2018.

He holds a CAF B coaching license and as the head coach of Maroons FC U-17, the team was awarded the fair play award for the 2015-16 FJL season.

Besides football coaching, Ben is a competent football performance analyst, football scout, and governance in football after obtaining a diploma in Advanced Sports Management from the Uganda Olympic Committee and Football Administration and Management Course (FAMACO) from FUFA.

He writes blogs about developing Ugandan football in my thoughts section of this website and The Developing Football in Uganda Podcast hosted by Pauline Amuge.

He is currently working on starting a football school that will run on a comprehensive football syllabus to teach youngsters football basics and to work as an individual coach for professional players seeking to improve on their football performance attributes.

Ben offers consultancy services to help football clubs in Uganda to become professional and self-sustainable through strategic management.

It’s based on this knowledge that he designed the Futsal Association of Uganda’s 2021-25 strategic plan “the game changer” and the club licensing template used ahead of the 2019-20 Futsal Super League season.
